ENVIRONMENT
Great Divide Mining is a forward-looking Australian mining company. We manage each project to coexist with the natural environment – not compete with it.
Our approach is grounded in minimising disturbance, managing risk responsibly, and applying contemporary environmental standards across planning, operations and closure. GDM’s environmental framework aligns with recognised best-practice principles.
Transparency is core to our approach.
OUR CORE PRINCIPLES EMBRACE:
- Brownfield focus, where historical mining has already occurred, avoiding disturbance to untouched or high-value natural environments.
- Re-use of existing infrastructure, recommissioning and/or upgrading existing mine workings, plant, access roads and services, reducing the need for new disturbance.
- Modern remediation standards: Sites previously mined to legacy standards are progressively remediated to meet or exceed contemporary environmental expectations. The environment is left in a demonstrably better condition than when we assumed stewardship.
“Every brownfield site recommissioned means we’ve protected another piece of the environment”
Paul Ryan, Chairman Great Divide Mining (ASX:GDM)
