Challenger Gold
Great Divide Mining Ltd (ASX:GDM) has recommissioned the historic Challenger Gold Mine at Adelong, NSW, as part of the Company’s strategy to transition from explorer to gold producer.
The Adelong Goldfield has historically produced more than 800,000 ounces of gold and is regarded by GDM as a cornerstone asset within the Company’s growing gold portfolio.
The Challenger Gold Mine includes:
- Mining Lease ML 1435
- Exploration Licence EL 5728
- Gold processing plant and associated infrastructure
GDM is managing the staged recommissioning of the Challenger Mine and Processing Plant.
Key operational milestones achieved by GDM include:
- First gold pour from the recommissioned processing plant on 16 July 2025
- First shipment of gold concentrate on 29 April 2026
- Processing of at surface historic mineralised mine waste delivering early cash flow.
GDM continues to focus on:
- Increasing processing performance
- Optimising mine planning and feed supply
- Expanding operational capacity over time
- Advancing exploration opportunities across the broader Adelong Goldfield
The Company’s operational strategy follows a disciplined “crawl, walk, run” approach, prioritising safe, stable and sustainable production growth.
The project is part of GDM’s low-impact, brownfield strategy aiming to produce up to 500 oz of gold per month in concentrate initially.
The first shipment of gold concentrate marked the transition of Challenger to a producing asset for GDM.
