Great Divide Projects Background
The Great Divide Tenement portfolio has been grouped into 4 Projects, click through below:
Devils Mountain
Great Divide’s Devils Mountain Project is an advanced project centered on an historic high grade gold mining area. It has been subject to little modern exploration and has significant potential upside, and its presence in the renowned Gympie gold mining area close to Brisbane will allow GDM to rapidly develop the full potential of the Devils Mountain Project.
Significant historical drill hole intercepts:
- 7 m @ 11.45 g/t Au, from 12m (DDH-B1)
- 3 m @ 4.51 g/t Au, from 9 m (DP 1).
- 2 m @ 4.74 g/t Au, from 15 m (DP 2).
- 2 m @ 11.04 g/t Au, from 19 m (DP 2).
- 6 m @ 2.8 g/t Au, from 26 m (DP 6).
- Including 1 m @ 11.45 g/t Au, from 26 m.
- 1 m @ 3.1 g/t Au, from 15 m (DP 7).
- 1 m @ 4.44 g/t Au, from 23 m (DP 7).
- 1 m @ 5.42 g/t Au, from 33 m (DP 9).
Significant rock chip analyses:
44 samples returned over 2 g/t Au, including 14 samples which returned over 15 g/t Au. The maximum assay was 76.5 g/t Au
Thirteen historical trenches, with best intercepts:
4.5 m @ 5.51 g/t Au in Trench 1
7 m @ 4.01 g/t Au in Trench 3
Coonambula
Great Divide’s Coonambula Project hosts numerous historic gold and antimony mines, several of which have been drilled in recent years with excellent results. GDM has the opportunity to rapidly develop a gold-antimony resource base at Banshee while undertaking further drilling works at the Perseverance gold area.
Historical gold-antimony working at Perseverance and Banshee.
Perseverance mines:
- 20kt @ 20 g/t Au for 13,200 Oz
- Up to 132m deep
- Mineralisation up to 10m wide, 3 veins
- Grades up to 71 g/t
3 recent RC drill holes at Perseverance, all anomalous Au.
Banshee is part of the Hungry Hill Antimony workings, production between 1878 and 1955.
Exploration completed:
- IP and gravity surveys
- 12 shallow RC and 13 later RC/DD holes all returned ore-grade antimony-gold mineralisation
Yellow Jack
Great Divide’s Yellow Jack Project has been subject to significant historic drilling which resulted in a non-JORC resource of over 40,000 Oz of shallow gold. There is significant upside to this potential resource with extensions to the north and south, and at depth. GDM will update this drilling data, conduct metallurgical testwork, and rapidly advance the project towards early mining cashflows.
Historical exploration includes 60 drill holes, results included:
- 16 m @ 3.5 g/t Au in hole RB58, from 9 m depth.
- 7 m @ 4.13 g/t Au in hole RB65, from 28 m depth.
- 5 m @2.05 g/t Au in hole 96YJRC168, from 66 m depth.
- 10 m @ 3.23 g/t Au in hole 96YJRC163, from 25 m depth.
- 1 m @ 10.5 g/t Au in hole 96YJRC166, from 49 m depth.
Metallurgical testing shows ore amenable to leaching.
Non-JORC resource calculated in 2009 885,000t @ 1.41 g/t Au for 40,200 Oz.
Cape
Great Divide’s Cape Project comprises two excellent greenfield opportunities with some significant historic exploration results. Bonanza is within the sought-after Chillagoe Formation which hosts the massive Mungana and Red Dome deposits and close to a number of advanced copper prospects. New Goldfield has some high-grade gold in rock chips, but these haven’t been followed up previously. While early stage, these projects present an opportunity to rapidly develop into high-value prospects for GDM.
The following three targets on EPM 26646 have been identified for further exploration work:
- Annie and Chevy Creek anomalous geochemical gold and REE catchments, as identified by Wyala Resources and Baron Gold. The N-S gold-bearing structures mapped and sampled by Pat Baron in the SW part of the EPM are the highest priority targets on this EPM.
- The hematite-quartz vein outcrops sampled by CRA Exploration returning 4.4 g/t Au will be investigated during future exploration activities.
- Magnetic target MA20, described by BHP Minerals Pty Ltd in 1997 will be investigated during future exploration activities.
The two separate portions of EPM 2657:
- both lie directly along strike and within the same geological formation as the Leane’s Copper Prospect (held by NMR).
- Hosted by the Chillagoe Formation sedimentary rocks that host Leane’s Copper Prospect continue to the north and south. Red Dome and Mungana deposits near Chillagoe lie 110 km along strike
- Anomalous soil geochemistry may continue to the south and north onto the current EPM 26576.
- Aeromagnetic images of the area also confirm the strong N-S structure, showing a distinct N-S linear trend passing through Leane’s prospect and continuing onto EPM 26576 to the north and south. A number of circular magnetic highs occur along this N-S magnetic trend within EPM 26576 and form the primary targets for follow-up exploration work. These magnetic targets are likely to represent intrusive bodies at depth and are interpreted to contain associated intrusive-related copper-gold mineralization.
